Meet the People of Provenance

Join us as we delve into the people that are making up our master plan estate, Provenance. Today, we’re chatting with Deepak, who recently joined our community.

How did you discover Provenance Estate?

My brother-in-law suggested this Estate.

What drew you to Provenance?

This Estate is exclusively for first home buyers so most of the buyers should be families. I would like to live in such environments.

When did you know you wanted to build and live here?

I am new in Bendigo just landed in last March. Was looking for a new house.

Who is your builder of choice and what kind of home are you building?

Sherridon homes. It’s a single storey 4-bed house.

Is this a starter home, a forever home, or something in between?

It’s my first home and would like to live there for a long time.

What features of the Provenance community are you most excited about – beyond your new home, of course.

This Estate is located in a calm and quiet area in Bendigo and not much traffic. So such an environment is good for kids and family, most of the buyers are family.

What is it that you love about Huntly?

Huntly is a growing town and will be a big town like Bendigo soon and this will increase the value of my land in future which is a benefit for me.

Schooling and Child Care in Bendigo

When we think of raising a family in regional areas, the first thing that comes to mind is education for our children. Luckily, Bendigo and Huntly have plenty of options from childcare all the way up to University.

For your little ones just starting out, there’s a range of early learning/kindergarten offerings that are available for a great start to their education and routine. Take Shine Bright Huntly Kindergarten for example, which is only a 5-minute drive from Provenance Estate. Having groups for children aged 3-5, you can be sure that your child won’t be too far from home and is bound to make friends within the community too.

Other nearby options include Country Buddies in Epsom and Jenny’s Early Learning Centre, which are both committed to providing the highest quality childcare to enhance the social development of each child.

If your child is a little bit older and ready to attend primary school, you’re in luck! There’s an abundance of schools in the area that can be the perfect choice for your child’s primary education. Huntly Primary school is a 6-minute drive from Provenance Estate and has a current enrolment of 255 students. Epsom Primary is also nearby (11-minute drive away), and offers an extensive, engaging learning program for your children. White Hills Primary School is another great option only 13 minutes drive away from Provenance Estate and is committed to creating a stable and educative community for your child as they transition through their schooling.

If you’re after a Catholic primary education, Holy Rosary Catholic School is only a 12-minute drive away and holds the vision of an inclusive Catholic learning community called to service through their Mercy tradition. They nurture students to be engaged, passionate and successful learners who grow and feel connected in a contemporary world.

If you have children that are ready to embark on their secondary school education, Girton Grammar is a local co-educational, independent school. Founded in 1884, Girton Grammar is one of Australia’s oldest schools with a rich history of traditions that give the school its distinct character. One thing that makes this school a great choice is its commitment to creating emotionally intelligent young adults, along with a great educational program ranging from the arts, sports and literacy and numeracy.

Another great option close to home (about 20 mins from Provenance) is Victory Christian College. Catering for all age levels from Prep to Year Twelve, their diverse and rigorous curriculum challenges students and motivates them to achieve their best.

For those wanting a tertiary education without the move to major metro areas, try La Trobe University Bendigo Campus, a top-rated university that is ranked in the world’s top 250 by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2021. It’s also ranked #2 in the world for health and wellbeing and rated ‘well above world standard’ nationally. Best of all, it’s only a 20-minute drive away from Provenance Estate!

Making the move to regional doesn’t always mean you’ll be strapped for schooling options for your children. These are just a few options that are close by and we know you will be sure to find a great option that is best for your child and your family values.

GEORGE’S BAKEHOUSE

All this shopping is bound to have made you hungry. If you’re craving savoury or sweet, George’s Bakehouse is the way to go with their range of filled doughnuts, croissants and cupcakes or their traditional meat pies and sausage rolls.

PERCY AND PERCY

If you’re after a dine-in cafe experience, then look no further than Percy and Percy. Beckoning in the café crowds with delicious coffee and modern breakfast fare in a trendy decked out hub, you can watch the world go by from the courtyard or settle inside amongst a cozy setting of wooden tables and low pan lighting. Combining Coffee Basics beans and Inglenook Milk, Percy and Percy’s coffee is reason alone to make a visit – but after a peek at the menu, you won’t be able to resist staying a little longer.

HUNTLY HOTEL

Being in Australia, you can be sure that wherever you are, there’s a pub close by. In this case, we’d like to introduce Provenance residents to their new local – the Huntly Hotel. This family-friendly Hotel is renowned for its beer garden, classic pub eats (with modern twists), and you can be sure that you’ll get that family feel that comes with a local pub, with the kids getting a playground too (bonus!)

GATHERED

If you’re not already shopped out, a visit to Gathered will definitely do you well. This boutique store is a local favourite – whatever you’re after, from small gifts to those last finishing touches of your home, you can be sure to find at this trendy little store. But be warned, you might be walking out with more than you intend to!

MS BATTERHAMS

Before you know it, it’s dinner time. Where should you go, you ask? Well, Ms. Batterhams, of course! ‘The new girl with a past’, as the owners call it, is set in the basement of the old school hall at Mackenzie Quarters, which has been converted into a sophisticated lounge bar. It’s our tip for boutique and classic cocktails, and a menu that’ll leave you full, but definitely wanting to come back for more.

THE WOODHOUSE

In a meat mood? We get it! Meet our local favourite for steaks, The Woodhouse. Since 2012, they’ve been known for their woodfired experience, cooking with redgum on their chargrill and local applewood in their charcoal oven. They specialise in premium beef, grass-fed and in-house dry-aged meat selection, for all of our hungrier locals. You’ll know you’re close when you smell the delicious smokiness of the red gum char-grill from the minute you step through their doors.

And there you have it, these are our best picks and our local Bendigo loves who we know our residents will pinching themselves over being so close to. When you visit, be sure to let them know we sent you.

The Benefits of Building Your First Home

Are you tossing up between buying your first home or building your first home? Well, read on as we outline some of the amazing benefits to building your very first home!

Firstly, the price difference can be a game-changer. The established home market in Bendigo is booming which makes for a great opportunity to build.

When you build your home, you can budget accordingly and make sure you’re only paying for what you’ll actually make use of in your home. Also, if you are a first home buyer, your new home may come with many government incentives to assist you with this process.

Another benefit is the ability to customise your home and tailor it to your exact needs, wants and location. Plan for the future! If you’ll be doing more working from home, consider adding a dual office space, or if more kids are on the cards, add a rumpus room to your design. Building in Provenance means you will be walking distance from our community parks, the Huntly train station and only a few minutes drive from local stores, supermarkets, cafes and restaurants.

You don’t have to compete with others to secure your dream home when you build it. There’s nothing worse than falling in love with a house only to find out five other families have too! Once you have secured your land, you can build your brand-new home for you and your family.

We have plenty of land options available at Provenance for you to build your dream home, so get in touch today and build your new life at Provenance. Call our Estate Manager, Katrina, on 0418 584 107 for a confidential discussion.

Bendigo

Regional’s The Way

Regional property markets around the country are booming, and it’s not hard to imagine why, with better value for money, less peak hour traffic and fresh country air at your fingertips.

Couple that with the recent events of COVID-19 and working from home becoming the new norm (67% of Aussies have been working from home since March 2020*), more and more people are opting for a ‘tree-scape’ and leaving metro areas for regional locations.

Choosing to make the move to these areas can also ensure a more attainable home for your budget, while potentially being closer to key infrastructures like work, schools and hospitals.

Bendigo in particular has seen a huge increase in the number of Melbournites making the leap from city to country, and Provenance is no exception. The close proximity our master-planned estate has to local schools and universities, shopping precincts, parklands and bushwalking tracks makes it the ideal next step for someone looking to escape city life.

Thinking of a change in scenery? We have a range of stunning house and land packages on offer that can help make your relocation dreams a reality. Contact our Estate Manager, Katrina, on 0418 584 107 to build your new life at Provenance today.

Meet the People of Provenance

Join us as we delve into the people that are making up our master plan estate, Provenance. Today, we’re chatting with Trisha, who joined our community late last year.

How did you discover Provenance Estate?

After looking around and finally deciding to build my own home I had two lovely ladies helping me fulfil my dream; Tamara from Simonds Homes and Katrina from Provenance. They both worked with me to find the right home and land that suited my needs and budget!

What drew you to Provenance?

When I first went out to inspect the block of land it had a really good feel about it, the surroundings felt so peaceful and quiet. I really liked the location and I also loved that it is not far from the centre of Bendigo and that there is also a bus service within easy walking distance.

When did you know you wanted to build and live here?

When I did some background research on the new Provenance Estate, I was thrilled about the master plan, the new Huntly train station, parks where I can take my grandchildren to play, walking tracks and bike tracks – it’s shaping up to be a nice family community!

Who is your builder of choice and what kind of home are you building?

I am building an express home through Simonds Homes – it’s just the right size home to suit my needs.

What features do you love about your build of choice?

I am excited to move into my new home and to have a brand new backyard, perfect for entertaining family and friends with tasty summer BBQs. The butler’s pantry and alfresco area, are both things that I have always wanted and now my dream is finally happening!

Is this a starter home, a forever home, or something in between?

I would really like this to be my forever home, but I will just have to take it day by day as it all depends on how big my family expands.

What features of the Provenance community are you most excited about – beyond your new home, of course.

The contemporary lifestyle coupled with a family-friendly environment with walking tracks and parks is something I’m really looking forward to. To have a place where my family can come together in a friendly and safe environment while being so close to town yet still feel like you’re in a county setting is magic!

What is it that you love about Huntly?

I find Huntly very relaxing and I am absolutely in love with the Huntly bakery “that can be very dangerous for the waistline” and I also love that the population is growing and amenities are close by, including the supermarket, chemist, post office, local pub, bakery and it’s only a 5 min drive to the Epsom shopping centre.

A big thanks to Trisha for sharing her wonderful story. If you’d like to join the Provenance community, contact Estate Manager, Katrina, on 0418 584 107 today or explore our Land Only, House & Land or Park Homes options.
